I made fresh dreamy cheesers treats for the beasties!
I bought this natural cat treat cookbook a number of years ago and have only made a handful of the recipes, mostly because Pilot is a diva and only eats very specific foods. If she won’t eat fresh salmon, she probably won’t eat unsalted baked treats with salmon in them either. BUT Big Suze will eat anything! So I brought out the book and made some cheesy treats. They are good for humans to eat too, though for human consumption they definitely require salting and some kind of herbal addition, maybe rosemary.
The dreamy cheesers are pretty simple:
3/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
5 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup sour cream or yogurt
1/4 cup cornmeal
Mix all the ingredients together and knead the dough into a ball. Roll it out with a rolling pin and use the cookie cutter to cut out treats and place on parchment paper or greased baking tray. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Pilot may snub these treats, but Suze loves them and Farnsworth will be all over them too. They smell good while they are in the oven too!
