I just want to take a moment to show off the amazing dinner I ate last night at Woodfire. J is a chef there, and after almost every shift he brings home one of their delicious pizzas and I’m LOVING IT. He wasn’t on shift last night though, so we paid a visit there for some non-pizza items off the new Spring menu. Pictured above is the portabello mushroom burger I had; it is served on a house-baked bun and topped with both pickled and balsamic onions, Gorgonzola cheese, greens and a chipotle aioli. It was DELICIOUS. And it also came with a caesar salad and Woodfire’s signature seasoned fries. Then came dessert. J has the sticky toffee pudding and I had a trio of gelato – chocolate, pistachio, and hazelnut. We pretty much rolled home afterwards and passed out watching South Park.
J has made a batch of both the balsamic onions and pickled onions for our use at home and I have been putting them on eeerrrrrythang. I’ll post a how-to tomorrow!
