We are trying to keep up with our exploration of British Columbia and Vancouver Island, and this weekend we checked a big one off the list by visiting Tofino and Ucluelet. It was J’s birthday so we booked one night at the Duffin Cove Resort in downtown Tofino and made the drive over. We were warned to bring rain jackets but, with our “traveluck” at work (our made up word), it was gloriously sunny and clear both days which meant I got some really nice photos!

^ Cameron Lake
^ Sproat lake
^ Frosty! But no snow.
^ Kennedy Lake
Shortly after getting into Tofino there is a long sandy beach for surfing called Incinerator Rock.
^ The Tla-o-qui-aht village of Opitsat, across Tofino inlet.
The room had a perfect view of the sunset (which was at like 4:30pm hahaha ugh) These photos are not photoshopped at all, this is just the magic that happens when you have greasy fingerprints all over your phone camera lens.

We made a small detour to Ucluelet on the way back and stopped to have breakfast at a small roadside cafe. The woman working there was selling hand spun wool/alpaca yarn skeins from her family’s farm and I grabbed a few for a new weaving. Can’t wait to get it started!
More to come on the food we ate because it was spectacular!
