Recent Book Hauls

I said I would try not to buy as many new books this year, but we all knew that wouldn’t last. I’ve tried to at least make a push to read the books I buy right away so they don’t sit around for months or years on the shelf unread… great idea, hey? Here’s a few of my most recent book hauls.

Kabu-Kabu by Nnedi Okorafor (read)

The Killing Moon by N. K. Jemisin (read)

The Shadowed Sun by N. K. Jemisin (read)

We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (read)

Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson

The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae

Land of Love and Drowning by Tiphanie Yanique

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell – A birthday gift from my Mom!

Hello, Cruel World by Kate Bornstein (read)

Woman Rebel by Peter Bagge

The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt

Blue is the Warmest Color by Julie Maroh (read)

(those last four were from a book sale on the island, great scores all for just $10)

  1. Love the list! I will sure include some of this in my to-read-list! You are also welcome to follow my blog (I just started it) with book reviews!

    • I’m really excited about some of these titles, the Jemisin duo was really good, and so were the short stories in Kabu-Kabu! I’ll check out your blog!

  2. “Blue is the Warmest Colour” is so so good! Also a really great movie! Great stack of books you have there.. Looking forward to the reviews 🙂 xo
