Thrifty’s had mangos on sale 3 for $5 (so much better than the time I tried to buy one and changed my mind when I was told it was $7!) along with apples and some other fruit, so I grabbed a bunch for juice. I also picked up a really handy mango slicer!! This thing is essential as I always manage to completely mangle mangos and get a sad amount of usable fruit off the fibrous pit. It’s so easy now! Here’s what I came up with:
Super Orangey Juice
1/4 fennel bulb (fresh from the garden)
1 mango
3 gala apples
2 carrots
1 tsp turmeric
I’m glad we have a use for the fennel we planted this year, last year we just let them go to seed so I could collect them, but didn’t use the actual bulbs. The fennel in this juice adds just a small amount of sweetness and not the licorice flavour you might expect. Fennel has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties and is also rich in vitamins A, C and many of the B vitamins so it’s a nice addition to this super sweet blend. Yum yummm!
I didn’t even know that a mango slicer was a thing! I will have to look into getting one now. The juice sounds and looks delicious!
I didn’t know it was a thing either but saw one at the grocery store and thought YASSSS need this.
I’ll have to keep my eye out for one myself 🙂 So necessary!
