Milk and Honey just blew me away. So excellent.
It’s rare for me to find poetry I like, for some reason, but all of these look really intriguing to me. The Sylvia Plath is the only one I’ve read, but I’ve read prose work by several of the other authors, so I’ll have to check them out.
Milk and Honey is really powerful and also accessible. Liz Howard’s collection is mind blowing but a bit more elite. Both are on my list of all time favourites!!
Have you read any Sharon Olds? If you like Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, Liz Howard, and Margaret Atwood, I think you’ll love her works too. She’s my favorite! π
