The Week in Books #4

04_02_2017_01

Time for another Week in Books! I feel like I start every entry that way, perpetually surprised by the passage of time haha. This week was a little slow for reading but I did start two new books: The Mothers by Brit Bennett and Ancillary Mercy by Ann Leckie. So far I am really enjoying the characters of the Mothers, but am struggling a bit with Ancillary Mercy. It’s been a while since I read the first two in the trilogy and I’m having a hard time remembering who everyone is. Hopefully as things progress I will get into the flow of things without having to go back and reread Ancillary Justice and Ancillary Sword.

New books this week include Human Acts by Han Kang, Things We Lost in the Fire by Mariana Enriquez, and Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue all three of which I’m VERY excited to read! Is anyone else reading something new this week?

  1. I’m reading Human Acts right now (finally!). Still toward the beginning, but so far it’s excellent.

I’m going to have to buy Caucasia online because it’s one I’ve been really wanting to read, but I can’t find it anywhere locally.
