The garlic I planted last fall is growing along happily and the scapes were ready for harvesting this week. They are so curly and neat, plus they smell amazing! I’ve never harvested scapes but it’s pretty easy to know when they are ready, just watch for that curl and trim them off the plant as close to the base of the scape as possible without damaging the garlic stalk itself. All of the cloves I planted have grown well so we have a good number of scapes to work with. Recipe ideas coming at you soon!
