Finally, we say goodbye to our awful bathroom. This has been a long time coming (remember when we ripped out the plastic surround three YEARS ago?), but we kept putting it off again and again because the scale of the project was intimidating. It’s a lot of work and obviously also pretty expensive. We would have kept putting it off but the local hardware store had a massive sale on old stock, including lots of plumbing and lighting fixtures, and we impulsively bought a tub filler/valve/shower head combo for $45 (marked down from over $200)
With this piece of plumbing we felt like it was only a small jump to buying a bathtub, then just another little jump to buying tile… and then the room would be half done so why not go for it! Haha. Things are never really that simple, but we took advantage of some deeply discounted tile at Home Depot, then financed a vanity that was on sale, then spent some birthday money on grout and adhesive and suddenly we were really close to having all the bits!

So this post is to note where we started. I’ve had my last bath in the super uncomfortable metal tub and everything has been ripped out. Goodbye terrible tub!
This bathtub was my birthday present and I’m SO STOKED. I promise I will use it every day! Here’s where we are now, finished product hopefully soon.
